Essential punting equipment for those who are not fully prepared. Magdalen Bridge on the River Cherwell is one of the three principal locations in Oxford to hire a punt, the others being Folly Bridge and Cherwell Boathouse. These low, open boats which can be seen gliding along Oxford’s two rivers (the Cherwell and the Thames, or Isis as it is traditionally known on its passage through Oxford) from Easter to late September are a favourite with locals and visitors alike and, although tricky to master, are a true Oxford experience.
